Born in Italy, the daughter of a successful boutique owner and artist, Sutera arrived in New York at the tender age of eighteen. Before long, she was working in the most respected fashion houses on the East Coast. By 1979, Sutera had found her way into New York's exciting bridal business. The overall look, she says, is classic Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly. Sutera cautions brides to begin their search for the perfect wedding gown a year in advance. "Brides should allow time to order fabric, the beading and the embroidery," she says.
